Job summary

Delaware Eye Care Center is seeking a patient-focused Optician for our Rudnick, DE location. This full-time role offers no nights, no major holidays or Sundays, and a robust benefits package in a team-oriented environment.

You will sell and dispense eyeglasses and contacts, advise on lens materials and frames, and help patients select optimal solutions based on prescriptions and lifestyle.

Qualifications

• ABO/NCLE certification required.
• One to two years of retail optician experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient education regarding lens materials, products, and designs.
• Performs prescription analysis such as interpreting and transposing.
• Advises patients on eyeglass frame selection and lens choices.
• Measures and verifies lens powers, pupillary distance, and related parameters.
• Orders and tracks custom lens products from vendors and communicates delays.
• Processes charges, insurance payments, and billing.
• Maintains inventory of frames, lenses and office supplies.
• Ensures clinic-to-dispensary handoffs are smooth and efficient.
• Maintains clean, professional work environment and helpful patient interactions.
