Keplr-Vision-Group is seeking an Optician I to support multiple Nittany Eye Associate locations. You will review prescriptions, educate patients on lens options, and assist with frame selections to meet medical and lifestyle needs.

The role involves achieving sales goals, managing inventory, and coordinating with physicians on prescriptions. Training is provided for those with interest in optical work and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and personal presentation are critical for this role.
• 0-3 years of experience preferred.
• Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Coachable—open to feedback and continual improvement.
• Flexible and adaptable; professional phone and office etiquette.
• Optical experience is preferred but not required—we will train the right person.

General Job Description & Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that all patients are receiving the best quality of care at all times. Primary responsibilities include:

• Review Physician’s prescriptions and orders based on medical charts
• Educate patients on their corrective lens options and help them make a choice that fits their medical needs as well as lifestyle preferences
• Provide honest but compassionate feedback about aesthetic choices in frames
• Achieve sales goals and quotas as determined by office staff while attending to patients’ specific needs and desires
• Manage inventory of frames and contact lenses to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and product variety
• Communicate with physician with questions or concerns about prescriptions and other eye-related issues
• Perform adjustments and repairs of eyewear
• Place optical orders with a general understanding of insurance benefits

Experience & Skills

Excellent customer service skills and personal presentation are critical to this role. The ideal candidate will have 0-3 years of experience and:
