Job summary

Training will be provided. Licensing is preferred but not required. Responsibilities include assisting patients in selecting eyewear, conducting fittings, educating about lens options, maintaining HIPAA-compliant records in Epic, and performing lab tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in optical services or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Experience in retail management or sales within the healthcare sector is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient education and customer service.
• Ability to work effectively in a clinical environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their needs and preferences.
• Conduct fittings and adjustments of eyeglasses and contact lenses to ensure proper fit and comfort.
• Educate patients on lens options, care instructions, and the importance of regular eye examinations.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations using EMR systems such as Epic.
• Perform laboratory tasks related to eyewear production as needed.
• Stay updated on the latest optical technologies and trends in the industry.
