Job summary

Oakley in Tyson's Corner, McLean, VA is hiring a full-time Optician to educate customers and elevate the performance of our eyewear. You will be an ambassador, deliver exceptional service, and contribute to store leadership on the sales floor.

The role requires a current state optician license, knowledge of optical theory, and retail experience. You will help grow Rx business, support teammates, and engage with the local community while upholding store standards.

Qualifications

• Current State Optician License
• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Knowledge of current optical theory and practices
• 1+ years of retail sales experience
• Availability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written), including relationship building
• Ability to be on your feet most of the day
• Ability to maneuver merchandise and lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Creates an exceptional customer experience and shows urgency in providing service to customers.
• Demonstrates product knowledge to describe features of lenses & frames using appropriate tools.
• Acts as a leader in optical operations and works with Store Management to determine growth opportunities for Rx expansion.
• Fosters an environment of learning where all team members become experts in our optical products and service offerings.
• Engages and builds relationships with the local community to attract a new customer base.
• Anticipates and resolves customer issues, ensuring satisfaction and quick resolution with management.
• Performs work accurately using all technology, even under time pressure and high volume.
• Supports daily Retail Operational functions, follows policies and procedures, and collaborates with management.
• Maintains store appearance and visual objectives, and assists with floor and fixture changes.
• Additional duties may be assigned to support store operations.
• Promotes an inclusive culture by treating customers and colleagues with respect.
