Job summary

Midwest Vision Partners is seeking an Optician to join our team. You will sell, fit and dispense eyewear to patients, helping customers look and see their best while staying current with the latest eyewear fashion trends.

Schedule aligns with retail hours. You will measure customers and recommend lenses, coatings, and frames, assist with frame selection, and handle orders for frames and lenses, including using a lensometer when needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Recommend lenses, coatings, and frames.
• Measure bridge, eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupil distance and centers using devices.
• Sell frames, contact lenses and sunglasses.
• Assist customers in selecting frames coordinated with measurements and prescriptions.
• Heat and shape frames to fit clients.
• Instruct customers on inserting, removing and caring for contact lenses.
• Determine prescriptions using lensometer or analyzers when needed.
• Order and purchase frames and lenses.

We are looking for an Optician to join our team. As an Optician you will sell, fit and dispense eyewear to patients. Our Opticians help customers look and see their best working with the latest Eyewear Fashion Trends!

Schedule:

• Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 8:30-5:00
• Tuesday: 8:30-7:00

What you will be doing

• Remain current with eyewear trends.
• Evaluate customer's prescriptions and visual requirements.
• Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit client needs.
• Measure clients bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers of eyes, using measuring devices.
• Selling goods such as contact lenses, spectacles, sunglasses, and other goods related to eyes in general.
• Assist customers in selecting frames according to style and color and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
• Heat and shape plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients
• Show customers how to insert, remove, and care for their contact lenses.
• Determine customer's current lens prescriptions, when necessary, using lensometer or lens analyzers and customer's eyeglasses.
• Order and purchase frames and lenses.

What you know

Required

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience working in customer service
• Excellent verbal communication skills

Desired

• 2 years recent retail office experience (Optical Retail preferred)
• ABO/NCLE Certified
• Graduate of Optical Studies Program
• Familiarity with Ophthalmology and Optometry practice
