Job summary

University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation is seeking an Optician to join the UW Health Eye Care Team at multiple Madison locations. You will assist patients with eyewear selection, dispense lenses, perform repairs, and educate patients on proper eye-wear care.

This full-time, day-shift role offers a stable schedule and opportunities to contribute to high-quality eye care. Roster includes working Monday through Friday, no weekends, with benefits such as health/dental insurance, PTO, retirement

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Optician Vision Care Program preferred.

University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation

Full time, 40 hrs per week day shift. Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:30am - 5:30pm, no weekends required. You will work at 1 S Park, Madison, WI but will be required to float to locations at 2880 University Ave., 5249 E Terrace Dr. and 2349 Deming Way . Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay :

Pay range is based on a full-time (100%) position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred
• Completion of an accredited Optician Vision Care Program Preferred

Work Experience

• Computer experience Required
• Previous experience in customer service or eye care setting Required
• 1 year or more Optician experience Preferred
• 1 year or more of work experience with processing insurance claims Preferred
• Optical lab training and/or optometric technician experience Preferred
• Contact lens training or experience Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Obtain American Board of Opticianry (ABO) Certification within 18 months or three (3) testing periods from the date of hire and maintain the certification Required
• American Board of Opticianry (ABO) Certification and/or National Contact Lens (NCLE) Certification Preferred
