Job summary

Miller Family Eyecare in Cedar Rapids, IA is hiring an Optician and frame stylist. You will educate patients, help them choose lenses and frames to fit medical and lifestyle needs, and support sales goals in a friendly team setting.

Flexible training is available for those with enthusiasm, strong communication, and a positive, coachable attitude. Full-time role with excellent benefits and Monday–Friday hours.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience with Customer Service or Sales preferred, optical experience a plus (training available)
• Strong communication and multitasking skills

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on corrective lens options and help select fits for medical needs and lifestyle
• Provide honest but compassionate feedback on frame aesthetics
• Meet sales goals and quotas while addressing patients' needs
• Review prescriptions and orders based on medical charts
• Operate lensometer and other tools for proper fittings
• Manage frame and contact lens inventory for variety and satisfaction
• Communicate with physician about prescriptions and eye-related issues

Miller Family Eyecare is looking for an Optician and frame stylist who is highly motivated and will help to create the energy and excitement around our products and services by providing the right style solutions for our patients’ lifestyles. We are looking for someone If you have a passion for helping people, an outgoing personality, and a desire to learn, this is a wonderful opportunity for you. Experienced opticians and frame stylists are encouraged to apply, but we are also willing to train someone!

Competitive & Guaranteed Hourly Wage: $18-22/hour

What You'll Do

• Educate patients on their corrective lens options and help them make a choice that fits their medical needs as well as lifestyle preferences
• Provide honest but compassionate feedback about aesthetic choices in frames
• Achieve sales goals and quotas as determined by office staff while attending to patients’ specific needs and desires
• Review Physician’s prescriptions and orders based on medical charts
• Operate manual lensometer and other tools to achieve proper fittings for patients
• Manage inventory of frames and contact lenses to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and product variety
• Communicate with physician with questions or concerns about prescriptions and other eye-related issues

What We're Looking For
