Job summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking an Optical Technician to provide hands-on support for design, assembly, alignment, test, and integration of electro-optical and photonic systems in a defense environment. The ideal candidate has 6+ years in optics manufacturing or R&D and cleanroom discipline.

Responsibilities include assembly, alignment, testing with interferometers, file documentation, and collaboration with engineers and program managers to meet program milestones.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in a defense, aerospace, or precision optics environment.
• Experience with optical alignment techniques and interferometric testing.
• Proficiency in assembling opto-mechanical systems and working in ISO cleanroom environments.
• Familiarity with MIL-SPEC programs or government-contracted programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and align precision optical components per drawings and procedures.
• Integrate electro-optical subassemblies into larger sensor/imaging systems while maintaining tolerances.
• Perform fiber optic splicing, connector termination, and cable routing.
• Support installation and integration of laser systems and opto-mechanical hardware.
• Document test results and flag non-conformances; initiate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineers and program managers to support design verification.
