Job summary

Voyager Technologies in California seeks an Optical Engineering Technician to support the design, assembly, alignment, test, and integration of electro-optical and photonic systems in a defense/aerospace setting. You will work under senior optical engineers, and bring 6 years of hands-on experience in optics or photonics manufacturing or R&D. Cleanroom discipline is required.

You will perform assembly, alignment, testing, and documentation, ensuring mechanical and optical tolerances. A U.S.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electro-Optics, Photonics, Electronics Technology or related discipline; 6 years of hands-on optics experience preferred.
• Coursework in geometrical optics, laser principles, or optical instrumentation is a plus.
• Demonstrated proficiency in optical alignment and interferometric testing; experience with MIL-SPEC programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and align precision optical components per drawings and procedures.
• Integrate electro-optical subassemblies into sensor/imaging systems with maintained tolerances.
• Perform fiber optic splicing, connector termination, and cable routing for photonic subsystems.
• Operate and verify tests with optical instruments; document results and drive corrective actions.
