US Eye in Mt. Pleasant, SC, is seeking an Optical Technician to join our patient-focused team. This entry-level position blends retail and medical device work, with on-the-job training and opportunities to grow within a leading ophthalmology/optometry network.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, organized multitasking, and clear communication to support patients and Opticians. Training will cover lenses, frames, and insurance navigation as part of a dynamic, full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent communication and listening skills to properly address patient needs.
• Customer service or service-related experience is a plus.
• US Eye will train the candidate, and this would be a great entry level position to develop a career in Opticianry.

Responsibilities

• Listen and address needs of patients as evidenced by company standards and policies.
• Answer the phones, and communicate patient’s needs to the Opticians and Optical Technicians.
• Efficiently take orders for contact lenses, create contact lens encounters and order lenses from ABB or other supplier.
• Navigate insurance websites to assist patients with the available benefits and cost associated with their plan.
• Sell and create encounters for accessories.
• Learn the lensometer.
• Oversee Frame Inventory.

Job Summary

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

• This is a full-time position based in Mt. Pleasant, SC. (Belle Hall-Location)
• Full-time position with days and hours Monday through Thursday 8:30AM-4:30PM and Friday 8:30AM-3:00PM
• Travel to other locations as necessary

Education and Experience

• A high school graduate or equivalent (required)
• Excellent communication and listening skills in order to properly address patient needs (required)
