Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace Technologies is seeking an Optical Systems Engineer to drive the design, analysis, and testing of advanced optical systems within the Optical Sensors group. You will shape Ring Laser Gyroscope technologies used in aerospace inertial navigation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate customer needs into optical specs and production-ready designs.

Eligibility spans early to senior levels, with opportunities for growth and exposure to cutting-edge research.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• Experience in optical design and development.
• Proficiency in design, analysis, simulation, optimization, validation and transition to production of precision optical systems.
• Experience with optical materials and manufacturing processes relevant to product development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of Ring Laser Gyroscopes (RLGs) for Inertial instruments, ensuring regulatory and safety compliance.
• Perform simulations and analyses to validate design and ensure reliable performance of aerospace systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define optical requirements, trade-offs, and cost estimates for design projects.
