Job summary

Shopko Optical in Neenah, WI, is seeking a Full-time Optical Sales Associate to deliver excellent patient and customer service while assisting in eyewear selection, dispensing and basic pre-exam support. On-the-job training is provided to develop certification requirements.

You will handle frame fittings, orders and repairs, support the optical lab, and help patients understand lenses and promotions, while maintaining inventory and billing accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• State license maintenance required.
• Shopko OCE Certification requirements and calendar modules.
• Experience in an office and/or optical dispensing preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple customer interactions and phone calls.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer and patient service according to company and Optical Center standards.
• Analyze patient eyewear needs.
• Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to satisfy patient needs.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color; coordinate with facial and eye measurements and prescriptions.
• Order and dispense eyewear accurately and professionally.
• Assist patients with frame repairs and adjustments.
• Show patients how to insert, remove and care for their contact lenses.
• Assist Optometrist with case histories and screenings.
• Maintain knowledge of third-party plans and claims.
• Explain promotions and special lens offerings to patients and customers.
• Balance accounts.
• Prepare work orders for Optical Lab.
• Process medical billing information.
• Ensure proper merchandising of frame inventory.
