Job summary

Excelitas Technologies Corp. in Boulder, Colorado, is seeking a QA Technician to perform optical fabrication-related inspections and tests. You will use precision measuring tools, read drawings, and ensure conformance to specifications in a controlled environment.

The role requires a high school diploma and 1+ years in quality inspection or manufacturing, with experience in regulated settings. Visa sponsorship is not available, and ITAR compliance applies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of experience with quality inspection, manufacturing, or production experience preferred.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record maintenance.
• Experience working in a regulated or quality-focused environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of components and finished products using established inspection criteria.
• Use measurement and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, microscopes, and other quality control tools.
• Conduct inspections in controlled environments, including dark-room or enclosed "black box" inspection stations as required.
• Identify, document, and communicate product defects, damage, or nonconforming conditions.
• Follow work instructions, inspection plans, procedures, and quality standards.
• Handle optical components and sensitive products using proper techniques to prevent contamination, damage, or degradation.
• Record inspection results accurately and maintain traceable quality records.
• Verify product conformance to drawings, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Support incoming, in-process, and final inspections as needed.
• Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
• Maintain inspection equipment and ensure equipment is calibrated and suitable for use.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, and other departments to resolve quality concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and controlled work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned
