Job summary

CACI is seeking an Optical Mechanical Technician in Danbury, CT to develop and assemble high-precision opto-mechanical products for aerospace and defense customers. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot, and build assemblies with tight tolerances, while supporting production and customer needs.

You’ll work hands-on, receive mentoring, and have opportunities to cross-train within the department to learn new skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years’ experience.
• Mechanically inclined with a curiosity and aptitude to learn.
• Computer proficiency with the willingness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to speak up as appropriate and elevate issues as required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain a high degree of flexibility and assist others as needed.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and work from assembly drawings.
• Troubleshoot, repair, reassembly and test.
• Work independently on production assemblies and repairs.
• Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, multimeters, and other measuring tools.
• Multi-task across technical jobs while staying organized.
• Cross-train within the department to learn other skills and processes.
• Fabricate hardware, equipment, tools or prototypes from drawings or sketches.
• Meet scheduled delivery dates and uphold compliance.
