Job summary

Divergent is seeking a Manager, Optical Manufacturing Development Engineering to own the optical subsystems across LPBF machine builds, from bring-up through commissioning and steady‑state production. You will stay hands‑on with calibration verification and troubleshooting to ensure optical performance.

This player‑coach leads a small optics team, develops calibration procedures and verification methods, and partners with design, controls/software, process engineering, and operations to resolve

Qualifications

• Ability to access information subject to US export controls.
• 5+ years in electro-optical or opto-mechanical systems.
• Experience designing and validating calibration and verification processes.
• Experience with RCCA and technical troubleshooting of complex electro-optical systems.
• Strong technical documentation and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Own optical subsystem integration from bring-up to steady-state production.
• Develop calibration procedures and verification methods.
• Lead a small team of optics engineers; hands-on builds and RCCA.
• Collaborate with hardware design, controls/software, process engineering, and operations to resolve performance issues.
• Create and maintain documentation: work instructions, calibration standards, tests, acceptance criteria.
• Establish metrics for optical health and drive continuous improvement.
• Train technicians in calibration, alignment, and laser safety practices.
• Scale-up optical processes across additional machines and sites.
