Job summary

CACI is seeking an Optical Engineer to support NSWC Crane, evaluating prototype EO/IR hardware (CDC, MWIR, LRF, SWIR, LWIR) and other sensor technologies. You will assist in benchtop testing, laser evaluation, data collection and analysis, and generate test reports.

You will participate in environmental qualification testing, document test plans and configurations, and collaborate with engineers, installation teams, and leadership to advance critical defense missions.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering or a related field.
• Experience with EO, IR, and Laser Technology programs.
• Experience with business planning and project development.
• Knowledge of government operating procedures and requirements.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work and communicate at multiple levels from senior leadership to installation teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide optical engineering support evaluating prototype EO/IR hardware (CDC, MWIR, LRF, SWIR, LWIR).
• Support benchtop testing, laser evaluation, data collection and analysis; generate test reports.
• Assist environmental qualification testing; document test plans and configurations; support system/LRU tests.
