Job summary

Walmart Inc. is seeking an Optical Department Lead in Bowie, MD to manage sales, merchandising, pricing accuracy, and inventory for the optical section. The role includes overseeing measurements, fittings, and patient education under optometric supervision.

You will drive community outreach, maintain high service standards, and coordinate with labs and suppliers to ensure timely quality eyewear solutions. ABO certification is required.

Qualifications

• Option 1: Completion of 2 or more years of college.
• Option 2: 1 year's retail experience and 1 year's supervisory experience.
• Option 3: 2 years' general work experience, including 1 year's optical experience and high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Meets eligibility to work in the Vision Center, including minimum age and other company requirements.
• ABO certification through American Board of Opticianry.

Responsibilities

• Delivers optical services and products under optometrist supervision.
• Performs eyewear measurements, fittings, and adjustments.
• Ensures HIPAA/privacy compliance and accurate patient records.
• Oversees order processing, inventory, and coordination with labs and suppliers.
• Leads and develops the optical team to maintain service quality.
