Prysmian is seeking a shift supervisor to lead production on a 12-hour rotating schedule at a 24/7 fiber optic cable manufacturing plant in North Carolina. You will review plans, redeploy operators, and make on-the-spot quality decisions to keep output on pace and ensure safety.
Responsibilities include coordinating staffing in real time, managing the MRR queue, coaching operators, and leading turnover meetings at shift end. ISO 14001 and QMS compliance are essential.
Lead production at the forefront of connectivity
Prysmian is the global leader in energy and telecom cable systems. Every year we deliver thousands of miles of underground and submarine power cables; medium- and low-voltage solutions for construction and infrastructure; and a full portfolio of optical fiber, copper, and connectivity products for voice, video, and data. With 30,000 teammates across 50+ countries, your work here helps transform how the world communicates and is powered.
You arrive for your 12-hour rotation—either 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.—and step onto a fiber optic cable manufacturing floor that runs 24/7. You review the shift operations plan by process area, assess ware/material movement and production priorities, and redeploy operators where they’ll have the most impact. Throughout the shift, you make on-the-spot quality decisions, steward safety, and keep production on pace. As the shift wraps, you lead a thorough turnover meeting so the next team can hit the ground running.
This position leads one of four rotating 12-hour shifts within a 24/7 fiber optic cable manufacturing plant (7 a.m.–7 p.m. and 7 p.m.–7 a.m.).
