Job summary

G&H (Gooch & Housego) is seeking a customer-focused Applications Engineer to bridge customers, sales, and engineering. Based in Cleveland, OH, you will help define requirements, recommend optical solutions, and support new product introductions from concept to production.

The role involves collaborating with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to deliver manufacturable solutions and exceptional customer experiences. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelors in Optical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
3+ years in Applications Engineering or a related role in manufacturing.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP/CRM/PLM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers throughout the sales, development, and product lifecycle.
Recommend optical products, systems, or customized solutions based on customer requirements.
Provide technical presentations, product demonstrations, and application support with the Sales team.
Review customer specifications and assess product feasibility and manufacturability; support new product introductions.
Collaborate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain to ensure successful execution of programs.
