Job summary

Gooch & Housego seeks a customer-focused Applications Engineer in Cleveland, OH to bridge customers, sales, and engineering. You will define requirements, recommend optical solutions, and support new product introductions from concept through production, collaborating with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years in Applications/E engineering roles within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers throughout the sales, development, and product lifecycle.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend optical products, systems, or customized solutions.
• Provide technical presentations, product demonstrations, and application support with the Sales team.
• Review customer specs and support new product introductions through design reviews and production readiness.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to execute customer programs.
• Maintain engineering documentation and customer records.
