Job summary

Inferno Systems is seeking an Operational System Engineer in Chantilly, VA to apply Linux administration, scripting, and automation to support mission-oriented data operations. You will work with CNOs to automate tasks, collect and process data, and develop tools for rapid data delivery to decision makers.

A TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly is required and a current clearance is mandatory. Candidates should have experience with virtualization, web servers, and network troubleshooting, plus strong

Qualifications

• 4+ years programming in Python and/or Bash.
• Proficient in Linux (CentOS Stream, Rocky, Ubuntu, etc.).
• Experience with web proxies, SSL certificates, DNS records.
• Experience with Windows via PuTTY/WSL and cross-OS work.
• Experience with VMware ESXi virtualization.
• Familiar with data flows, ETL and data processing.
• Strong interpersonal and customer-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with CNOs to automate tasks and improve data availability.
• Assist with data collection, parsing, and file transfer workflows.
• Develop and deploy tools to speed data delivery to end users and decision makers.
• Engage with customers to gather requirements and discuss conops and methodologies.
• Help design new processes for data collection, ingestion and processing.
