Job summary

University of Florida in Gainesville is seeking an entry-level Part-Time Studio Technician to join UFIT's Center for Instructional Technology and Training (CITT). Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain professional studio production equipment and recording spaces.
  • Operate live production systems such as teleprompters, live switchers, video capture devices, digital cinema cameras, and studio lighting systems.
  • Guide and coach clients throughout recording sessions with clear direction and feedback.
  • Capture and organize detailed production and editing notes for post-production workflows.
  • Maintain organized file structures and media management systems to support editing and archival processes.
  • Edit video projects in a timely manner while maintaining high production quality and consistency.
  • Ensure attention to detail in video composition, lighting, audio capture, graphics, and final delivery.
  • Utilize Trello, Notion, or Monday to monitor timelines and deliverables.
  • Edit using nonlinear software including Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar.
  • Create motion graphics and assets using After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an entry-level part-time Studio Technician to join theCenter for Instructional Technology and Training (CITT) in Academic Technology, a unit within UFIT.

UF Information Technology (UFIT) enables teaching, learning, research, and service on campus and across the region with state-of-the-art enterprise IT systems, including SEC and SUS universities, and the opportunity to teach using HiPerGator.

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and technically skilled Part-Time Studio Technician to support daily operations within our on-campus video production studios. This position plays a key role in producing high-quality instructional, promotional, and administrative video content for the university community.

Studio operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with faculty, staff, and university leadership and possesses hands-on experience in studio and field video production. Candidates should demonstrate strong technical knowledge of filming, editing, lighting, audio, and live production workflows while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize project management and collaboration platforms such as Trello, Notion, or Monday to monitor project timelines and deliverables
  • Edit using nonlinear editing software including Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar platforms
  • Create and incorporate motion graphics, visual assets, and AI-assisted production elements using tools such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
