Job summary

The Florida Department of Health in Fernandina Beach (Nassau County) seeks an Administrative Support Specialist to assist the Personnel Liaison with personnel actions, recruitment paperwork, classifications, separations, and related documentation. You will also support fingerprint/background checks, drug screening, and orientation materials, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Job description

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Assist the Personnel Liaison with personnel actions/steps and supporting documents for processes including but not limited to recruitment, classification, and separations; includes sending forms and documents to and receiving them from the Department of Health Office of Human Resource Management (DOH OHRM).

Helps with fingerprint/background and drug screen procedures for candidates and rescreens for employees.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems
  • 1 year experience in administrative office support

Preferred:

  • 2 years of experience in administrative assistant position
  • Experience with confidential data
