Job summary

Amergis is seeking an Outpatient Surgery/Observation Medical Coder in Buffalo to assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes and extract pertinent information from records. This role requires coding accuracy, compliance with payer guidelines, and attention to detail. You will collaborate with clinicians and coding staff to ensure complete, clean claims.

Minimum credentials include 2+ years of coding experience and a certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H (COC).

The Outpatient Surgery/Observation (OPS/OBS) Medical Coder is responsible for assigning ICD-10-CM and/or CPT/HCPCS codes as appropriate and abstracts pertinent information from patient records.

Minimum Requirements

• Must hold at least one of the following certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H (COC) for a minimum of 2 years and have a minimum of 2 years relevant coding experience
• Must be at least 18 years of age
