Job summary

Direct Jobs is seeking an OPS Manager/Engineer-Day (Plant) to oversee the Engineering Department and service functions for hospital facilities, including HVAC, electrical, and life-safety systems. The role requires strong leadership to plan, direct, and supervise activities to maintain safe, compliant operation.

The successful candidate will hold an associate degree in engineering/management or related field (bachelor’s in business preferred) and have 5+ years of healthcare operations

Qualifications

• Education: Associates degree in Engineering/Management/Business or related field; Bachelor's in Business preferred.
• Experience: Five plus years hospital or related work experience; familiar with healthcare operations, budgeting, and regulatory requirements.
• Management: Five plus years supervisory experience in engineering maintenance.
• Licenses/ Certifications: CHFM or related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct and supervise maintenance activities for hospital facilities to keep systems safe and operable.
• Administer labor and material controls; manage multiple site operations as needed.
• Train maintenance personnel on safety and regulatory compliance; communicate effectively at all levels.

Job Summary

Exhibit a strong, self motivated work ethic. Possess the effectiveness to plan, organize, direct and supervise assigned activities of the Engineering Department/Service function which are necessary in maintaining the physical structure, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, fire alarm systems, utilities and grounds of the hospital in and operative and safe working condition. This position may have the need to manage multiple site operations. Be accountable to the Director for planning and maintaining an effective organization, for administering labor and material controls, for training of maintenance personnel on safety and for effective management practices. Have effective communication skills at all organizational levels; possess knowledge of the Life Safety Code(r) and Regulatory Compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Associates Degree in Engineering, Management, Business or a related field. Bachelor's degree in Business preferred. Certified Healthcare Facility Manager/CHFM, HVAC, Electrical, Stationary Engineering or other certification/licenses preferred.
• Work Experience: Five plus years hospital or related work experience preferred, familiar with healthcare operations, Budgeting, Regulatory Agency Requirements such as TJC, DNV, TDSHS, CARF, and NFPA.
• Management Experience: Five plus years experience of supervisory level in engineering maintenance.
• Equipment Operated: Valid Texas Drivers License preferred.
