Job summary

University of North Florida Alumni Association in Jacksonville seeks a maintenance assistant to perform painting, plumbing, and minor repairs. You will help move furniture, clean, and handle other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Superintendent.

Experience with hand and power tools is preferred. Strong communication, flexibility, and a professional attitude are essential as you represent UNF and Housing & Residence Life to residents and guests.

Qualifications

Job Functions

• This position is maintenance work including assisting with painting, plumbing, and minor repairs.
• Work will also include moving furniture, cleaning, and all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Superintendent.

Minimum Qualifications

• This position requires an ability to quickly learn methods of repair.
• Must possess good communication skills, be flexible with a variety of assignments and must be able to exercise good judgment.
• Experience working within a customer service-oriented environment is mandatory.
• The employee must be able to maintain a professional attitude, promote departmental and university policies and represent the University of North Florida, the Department of Housing and Residence Life to residents and guests in a positive and supportive manner.
• The applicant will use diplomacy while working with individuals of various backgrounds and ages.
• Cannot be a current UNF student for this position type.

Required Qualifications

• Experience using hand tools and handheld power tools preferred.
• Willingness to learn new skills.
