High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Additional requirements:
  • Two (2) years of experience in seismology or construction mining. A post-secondary degree may be used as an alternative for years of experience on a year-for-year basis. Preference given to a degree with focus on computer science.
  • Five (5) years of experience using Microsoft Office products.
  • Five (5) years of experience managing contracts.
  • Five (5) years of experience analyzing statistical data.
  • Five (5) years of experience using MFMP and or using a state issued credit card.
  • Five (5) years of experience with web-based content management systems.
  • Five (5) years of experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Certified Florida Contract Managerrequired within (1) one year of employment.
Preference:
  • Experience in managing projects.
Minimum Qualificationsfor this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis. Knowledge of basic management principles and practices. Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices. Ability to work with web-based content management systems. Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials. Ability to conduct fact finding research. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to work independently. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

SPECIAL NOTES:

This position will be filled at $35.00 per hour at 40 hours per week.

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

Responses to qualifying questions must be clearly supported by the state application and any omission, falsification, or misrepresentation in the answering of the qualifying questions will be cause for immediate elimination from the selection process.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Receives, reviews, evaluates and processes construction mining complaints, investigations and applications to determine eligibility for licensure and monitors activities for continued compliance; independently evaluates qualifications and licensure criteria in accordance with Florida Statutes, laws and rules. Provides direction to staff in receipt of complaints filed against licensed professionals and facilities

Maintains Construction Material Mining complaint website and related web-based content.

Acts as liaison between the Bureau and various interdepartmental entities such as accounting, data processing, technology, management systems, general counsel, and others.

Reviews and approves program purchase request. Monitors and prepare reports of monthly statistical data related to construction mining.

Prepare and consult in the development of key procedures and guidelines for construction mining within the Bureau of Fire Prevention.

Prepare and consult in the development of rules and legislation for construction mining within the Bureau of Fire Prevention.

Reviews complex and confidential background information to determine eligibility for licensure.

Performs other related duties as required
