Qualifications

  • Experience operating motorboats and trailering is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with freshwater fishery monitoring and management activities.
  • Conduct creel surveys by interviewing anglers and recording data.
  • Perform field work and data entry as part of daily tasks.
  • Operate equipment used for sampling and evaluation of fisheries.
  • Maintain safety and compliance during field days (10–12 hour days possible).

Job description

This part-time seasonal position with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Division of Freshwater Fisheries Management assists with freshwater fishery monitoring and management activities in North Central Florida. Key qualifications:

  • Valid State of Florida driver's license
  • Must be 18 years old and have passed or pass an approved boater safety course upon hiring
  • Ability to independently operate boats, motors and trailers
  • Ability to understand and follow technical instructions relating to sampling and evaluation of freshwater fisheries
  • Experience operating motorboats and trailering (preferred)
