OPS Assistant Swim Coach

Job Summary
The OPS Assistant Coach of Women's Swim will report to the HeadWomen's Swimming and Diving Coach. The responsibilities of thisperson include but are not limited to overseeing practice, games,appearances, and other FGCU Swimming and Diving and FGCU Athleticfunctions. The incumbent will also support program functions toinclude travel opportunities, fundraising efforts and practice andgameday support. Responsible for assisting the coaching staff withadministering all facets of an NCAA Division I program. The personmust adhere to all rules and regulations associated with ourprogram, Florida Gulf Coast University, ASUN Conference and theNCAA.
Job Description
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Assists with the recruitment and retention ofstudent-athletes.
- Prepares and conducts practice sessions. Teaches individual andgroup skills and techniques.
- Assists with meet strategy and event assignments.
- Coordinates team travel arrangements and logistics.
- Monitors academic progress and status of team members,implementing action plans when needed.
- Monitors and maintains discipline and conduct of athletes tosupport the image and reputation of the athletics program.
- Promote the athletic program through community events, publicspeaking, fundraising, and marketing.
- Complies with all University, ASUN regulations, as well as allNCAA rules and regulations. Remains current with all changes inNCAA, as well as changes to University and ASUN rules andregulations regarding intercollegiate athletics. This includes therequirement for self-reporting any possible rule violations andparticipation in the annual NCAA continuing education programsincluding passing the NCAA certification test, if applicable.
Other Duties
- Travels throughout the country and internationally asassigned.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
