Job summary

The Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking a qualified professional to design evaluation methodologies and develop outcome measures for public health programs. You will lead program evaluations, analyze data, and prepare reports to inform planning and monitoring efforts across communities in Georgia.

Ideal candidates have a background in public health, strong data skills, and experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related work experience; or seven years of related work experience; or one year at Healthcare Prgm Consultant 1 or equivalent.
• Master's degree in Public Health preferred, with two years of epidemiologic work experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with program leadership to design evaluation methodologies and outcome measures.
• Lead public health program evaluations and community needs assessments.
• Develop analytical data products (reports, dashboards, charts, maps) to inform planning and monitoring.
• Conduct research and review public health literature for evidence-based recommendations.
• Gather data via surveys, focus groups, interviews, and community assessments.
• Assess effectiveness of interventions targeting health disparities.
• Prepare and deliver reports/presentations for stakeholders and partners.
• Collaborate with clients, partners, vendors, and internal teams.
• Assist in developing community partnerships and resources.
• Organize community outreach events and engagement activities.
• Support planning and implementation of policies and strategic plans.

All Coastal Health District, County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

• Collaborate with program leadership, including the Opioid Program Health Analyst (PHA), to design evaluation methodologies and develop outcome measures for project activities.
• Lead public health program evaluations and community needs assessments by monitoring, collecting, and analyzing data tied to established performance metrics.
• Develop and produce analytical data products (e.g., reports, dashboards, charts, maps) to inform public health planning, integration, and monitoring efforts.
• Conduct research, analyze quantitative and qualitative data, and review public health literature to generate evidence-based recommendations.
• Gather statistical and narrative data through surveys, focus groups, key informant interviews, and community health assessments.
• Assess the effectiveness of community-based interventions, particularly those targeting health disparities.
• Prepare and deliver reports and presentations for stakeholders, including leadership, partners, and external organizations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of experience performing work related to area of assignment; or seven (7) years of experience performing work related to area of assignment; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Healthcare Prgm Consultant 1 (HCP090) or position equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications-Master's degree in Public Health or Bachelor's degree in Public Health and two years of experience performing epidemiologic work in disease, disease surveillance and investigation.
