Job summary

Veterinary Eye Center of Massachusetts in Newtown Square is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our clinical team. You will support consultations and ophthalmic surgical sanitization, assist doctors and technicians, and help gather thorough patient histories to support the medical team.

We offer a 4-day work week (Mon–Thu), no weekends or nights, comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage, FSA/HSA, generous PTO, and 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in GP, ER, or specialty
• An interest and excitement for Veterinary Ophthalmology
• Experience with practice management software (ezyVet in-house platform)

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients including supporting consultations and ophthalmic surgical sanitization
• Assist Doctor and Technicians in providing a seamless client and patient appointment experience
• Educate clients about their pet’s care and gather thorough patient histories to support the medical team
• Handle and restrain patients for exams and sample collection for ophthalmic testing
• Handle and submission of patient samples to in-house and external labs
• Thorough cleaning, organization, and stocking of appointment exam rooms and treatment areas
