Eye Care for Animals Far West in Austin, TX is seeking a Veterinary Technician - Ophthalmology for a part-time role. You’ll support outpatient treatments, assist with laboratory tests, and handle client interactions while ensuring high-quality patient care.

The position requires experience as a veterinary technician, comfort with anesthesia monitoring, IV catheter placement, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary technician experience required.
• Licensed Technician preferred, but not required.
• Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood work, and IV/IM/SQ injections.
• Proficient in anesthesia monitoring and related equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (email, files, typing).
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end patient care and handling.
• Perform pre- and post-operative patient care.
• Create and present financial options and estimates.
• Enter service charges into the client database.
• Prepare medications and assist with client communication.
• Extensively interact with clients and care teams.
