Job summary

Veritas Veterinary Partners is hiring Veterinary Assistants for Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital, a 24/7/365 practice staffed by board-certified specialists. The role covers patient care, exams, diagnostics, and client education in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Base pay ranges from $19.00 to $23.00 per hour, with a four 10-hour shift schedule Monday through Friday. Perks include pet discounts, mental health support, CE allowances, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Veterinary Assistant.
• Basic understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring.
• Process laboratory specimens.
• Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Understanding of normal vs abnormal physiologic ranges.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with Ophthalmologic exams.
• Help DVMs and Techs with specialized diagnostic procedures.
• Obtain Intraocular pressures.
• Measure blood pressure using Doppler.
• Document history and updates in medical records.
• Assist with anesthetic and sedated procedures.
• Maintain accurate treatment sheets.
• Take radiographs and obtain/prepare blood samples for diagnostic testing.
• Provide client education on home care.
