Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking an Ophthalmology Technician to support clinical and research functions by preparing and performing eye procedures on pediatric and adult patients under physician supervision.

The ideal candidate will assist with various ophthalmic testing procedures and demonstrate the skills necessary to care for patients. A high school diploma and relevant healthcare experience are required. This position is full-time, onsite, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare providing direct patient care.
• Vision center or ophthalmic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment and patients for ophthalmic testing procedures.
• Assists physicians with ophthalmic testing procedures.
• Provides care for physical and psychological needs of patients.

Skills

Experience working with all levels within an organization

Proficiency in MS Office

Experience in ophthalmology

Experience in pediatrics

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of approved Ophthalmic Technician/Assistant program

Joint Commission certification
