Cape Fox Concentric Methods LLC is seeking an Ophthalmology Technician to provide full-time service at the Navy Facility, Camp Pendleton, California. The role supports the ophthalmologist and involves vision testing, patient history intake, and records management.

The position offers a base hourly rate of $28.56 plus $4.93 per hour Health & Welfare for up to 40 hours weekly, with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, tuition

Qualifications

• Certification in ophthalmology (COA/COT/COMT) preferred or required.
• Experience supporting ophthalmologists and performing eye-related tests.
• Strong record-keeping and patient interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a wide range of duties to assist the ophthalmologist as certified (COA/COT/COMT).
• Obtain patient histories, verify prescriptions, and maintain records.
• Assist in testing vision, acuity, peripheral vision, and color perception.
• Examine the eye with slit lamp for cornea and chamber abnormalities.
• Apply eye drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes.
• Measure intraocular pressure (glaucoma testing).
• Test central and peripheral vision and chart results.
• Measure axial length with ultrasound equipment.
• Instruct patients on eye care and contact lens handling.

Cape Fox Concentric Methods LLC is accepting resumes for an Ophthalmology Technician to provide full time services to our deserving Navy Facility at Camp Pendleton California.

The total hourly pay for this non-exempt position is $33.49. This is comprised of a base hourly rate of 28.56 plus $4.93 per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations. This rate represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.

Responsibilities

• Provide a wide variety of duties to assist the optometrist/ophthalmologist as appropriate to the level of certification (i.e., COA, COT, or COMT).


• Obtain patient histories, perform prescription verification, and maintain patient records.


• Assist in testing patient vision. Test far and near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception.


• Examine the eye, using slit lamp, for abnormalities of cornea, and anterior and posterior chambers.


• Apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes.


• Measure intraocular pressure of eyes (glaucoma test).


• Test field of vision, including central and peripheral vision, for defects, and chart test results on graph paper.


• Measure axial length of eye, using ultrasound equipment.


• Instruct patients concerning eye care and contact lens handling.
