Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ophthalmic Assistant Certification or COT preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to type at least 45 wpm.
• Willingness to work full-time including weekends.
• Ability to commute to satellite office locations.
• Bilingual skills preferred depending on site.

Responsibilities

• Promptly and professionally assists the doctor in patient care.
• Performs technical workups, patient interviews and special testing.
• Communicates with patients regarding follow-up care, surgeries, procedures and scheduling.
• Maintains and cleans all equipment and reports issues.
• Returns calls to patients and pharmacies.
• Potential to assist in minor office surgery.
• Interviews patients and documents histories accurately.
• Performs ophthalmic testing appropriate to subspecialty.
