Job summary

Eye Care for Animals St Charles is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant-Practice Lead to 70% clinical work and 30% leadership. You will guide a team, manage staff, and help drive client service excellence within Thrive Pet Healthcare.

The role emphasizes budgeting, KPI tracking, inventory control, and staff development, with an hourly compensation starting at $27–$31 per hour and a focus on compassionate, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of veterinary technician experience preferred.
• Proficient in IV catheters placement, blood work, and IV, IM, and SQ injections.
• Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and working with various monitoring equipment.
• Demonstrated competence in budgeting and financial reporting, including reading a P&L statement.
• Demonstrated ability to hire, train, and coach staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the business activities of the hospital, including hiring and training hospital staff.
• Prepare and manage budgets with Eye Care for Animals Leadership team.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators and inventory control.
• Lead staff meetings and ensure mandatory training on standards of service and care.
• Promote CQI to improve client service and employee engagement.
