Job summary

Eye Care For Animals Tampa is seeking an experienced Practice Leader to guide a hospital team and uphold a culture built on shared values and open communication.

The Practice Leader will oversee hiring, budgeting, and performance metrics, while ensuring outstanding client service and staff engagement. This role combines veterinary operations with leadership responsibilities in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of veterinary technician/assistant experience.
• Veterinary Technician licensure.
• Proficient in IV catheters placement, blood work, and IV, IM, and SQ injections.
• Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and working with various monitoring equipment.
• Team player.
• Ability to analyze various sources of data to establish priorities and initiate operational programs.
• Sound personal judgment in decision-making.
• Capable of leading, managing, and coaching staff at all levels.
• Demonstrated competence in budgeting and financial reporting, including reading and analyzing a P&L statement.
• Solid math and Excel/spreadsheet skills.
• Three years of supervisory experience.
• Preferred: three years or more of managing a veterinary practice.
• Ability to lift objects weighing 40 pounds without assistance and objects weighing more than 40 pounds with assistance.
• Availability to occasionally work uncommon hours and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the business activities of the hospital, including hiring and training staff.
• Prepare and manage budgets with Eye Care for Animals Leadership team.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators; maintain inventory and inventory control.
• Implement safety and security procedures; promote continuous quality improvement (CQI).
• Lead hospital operations to ensure excellent client service and employee engagement.
• Participate in leadership meetings as the Integrator on the hospital’s accountability chart.
