Job summary

Eye Care for Animals St Charles is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join as Practice Leader. The role blends 70% tech/assist duties with 30% leadership, focusing on culture, communication, and operational efficiency.

You will supervise staff, manage budgets with Thrive leadership, monitor KPIs, and ensure excellent client service while fostering teamwork and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• CVT/LVT/RVT licensure preferred, not required.
• 5+ years veterinary technician experience preferred.
• Ability to lift objects weighing 40 pounds without assistance.
• Experience supervising staff.
• Strong data analysis and budgeting abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and client service.
• Proficiency in IV catheters, blood work, anesthesia monitoring.
• Comfort with occasional overtime and irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead hospital staff, including hiring and training.
• Prepare and manage budgets with Leadership team.
• Monitor KPIs and maintain inventory control systems.
• Implement safety procedures and ensure high client service.
• Act as Integrator on the hospital accountability chart and participate in Thrive Planning meetings.
• Provide leadership 70% of the time as Veterinary Technician/Assistant and 30% as Practice Leader.
