The Ophthalmology Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide advanced practice care in the Emergency Department and inpatient consult settings, collaborating with ophthalmology residents, fellows, and attending physicians to evaluate patients and perform exams. The APP may travel to Santa Monica Hospital and Ronald Reagan Medical Center ED in Westwood for care delivery.

Formación

• BLS Certification from AHA or ARC- required.
• ACLS Certification from AHA or ARC- required.
• CA RN and CA NP License- required
• National Certification in NP Specialty - required
• MSN or DNP- required
• Prior Ophthalmology NP experience - required
• Experience performing ophthalmology procedures - preferred
• NPI #, DEA #
• Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment in CURE- required
• Ability to utilize excel, word and other software program- required
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel- required
• Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction- required
• Ability to set priorities- required
• Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence. Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner- required

Responsabilidades

• Evaluate patients and perform comprehensive histories, physical and ophthalmic examinations.
• Assist in the assessment and management of ophthalmology consults from the Emergency Department, operating rooms, and inpatient units.
• Provide outpatient follow-up care and support continuity of care across clinical settings; travel to Santa Monica Hospital and Ronald Reagan Medical Center ED in Westwood.
