About the Role
Ophthalmology has Non-Training Registrar roles suitable for doctors interested in extending their experience in this speciality. Prior experience is not necessary, but familiarity with the slit lamp and taking intra-ocular pressure measurements is vital. Within a month, you will be expected to be first on-call for eye acutes.
The posts can be coordinated with the Greenlane Eye Department to gain six months of experience in Hamilton and six months in Auckland.
There will be a combined interview process for Auckland and Waikato, but you must apply to both regions if interested in opportunities at either DHB.

Waikato Hospital is a teaching hospital and the major tertiary referral center providing specialised and emergency healthcare for the Te Manawa Taki and Waikato area, with a catchment of approximately 1,007,000 people. It is the only major hospital in New Zealand offering all surgical specialties on one campus and is the main trauma hospital for the region.
