Job summary

Northwest Eye Care is seeking a Medical Scribe at the Maple Grove location. The role supports Ophthalmology/Optometry exams by accurately documenting in EMR and ensuring billing documentation is submitted. Travel to other Northwest Eye Clinic locations is expected.

Starting pay is $18.50-21.00/hour. Responsibilities include scribing exam details, counseling patients, dispensing meds or samples, and managing room setups and supplies. Optional PTO and benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of direct patient care or scribe experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and professionalism.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Document patient exam in EHR, scribe all exam elements including contact lens templates.
• Provide patient and family counseling/education as needed.
• Dispense medication or samples as directed.
• Print and dispense glasses and/or contact lens prescriptions.
• Review notes to ensure accuracy and ICD-10 compliance.
• Obtain patient consent signatures for in-lane procedures.
• Prepare exam rooms per provider, keep areas stocked and clean.
• Attend trainings on MIPS, HIPAA, and PHI requirements.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and recalls in EPM.
