Job summary

Eye Health America and its Eye Associates affiliate seek a friendly Front Desk/Medical Office Assistant to support patient flow across clinics in the Southeast. The role requires travel to different locations and occasional overtime.

You will check patients in, verify insurance, enter demographics, collect fees, schedule follow-ups, and balance cash. A high school diploma is required; one year of eye care or medical office experience is preferred; travel and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred 1+ year experience in eye care or medical environment.

Responsibilities

• Check patients in for appointments in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Mark the arrival time of patients and ensure on-time service.
• Scan patients' insurance cards and driver's licenses.
• Enter all new patient demographics into the computer.
• Ensure proper authorization or referral is collected.
• Present and collect fees, post payments, and schedule the next appointment.
• Monitor accounts that are past due and collect payment at checkout.
• Balance daily cash drawer with payments posted and credit cards processed.
• Evaluate chart data to verify information is complete and signed.
