Job summary

Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare in the United States is seeking an Ophthalmology Assistant to support ophthalmology providers, perform testing and coordinate patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

You will assist with patient care, scheduling, referrals, and maintain exam rooms and equipment, with emphasis on accurate documentation and exceptional patient experiences.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and patient-centered care are essential.
  • Ability to work well on a healthcare team and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience in ophthalmology or specialty clinics is a plus.

As an Ophthalmology Assistant, you'll help patients protect and improve their vision while supporting specialized ophthalmology providers in a fast-paced and rewarding clinical environment.

What You'll Do
  • Assist ophthalmology providers with patient care and examinations
  • Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and specialty procedures
  • Perform ophthalmology-specific testing and screening procedures
  • Document patient information accurately
  • Support patient scheduling and follow-up care
  • Maintain examination rooms and clinical equipment
  • Monitor supply inventories and expiration dates
  • Assist with patient education and care coordination
  • Support quality and compliance initiatives
