Position Title: Ophthalmologist, Cornea Specialist - Ophthalmology

Department: SOM KC Ophthalmology, Ophthalmology Faculty

Position Type: Full-time, Tenure-track or Clinical Scholar Track

Job Summary: The University of Kansas Medical Center seeks an Ophthalmologist, Cornea Specialist to provide clinical care, teaching, and participate in research. Responsibilities include outpatient clinics, surgeries, supervising students and residents, and participating in research and academic service. On-call duties are shared among faculty. Opportunities for research and scientific presentations are encouraged.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Doctorate or equivalent, board eligible/certified in Ophthalmology, completed surgical Cornea fellowship.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Kansas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in clinical and surgical Cornea practice, research experience, and ability to obtain research funding.

Skills: Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive ophthalmology services including clinics and surgeries.
  • Supervise students and residents.
  • Participate in shared call rotation and departmental committees.
  • Engage in clinical research and scientific presentations.
  • Provide services at VA or other sites under agreement.
