POSITION SUMMARY:

The Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a General Ophthalmologist (Assistant Professor) to join its clinical care team and faculty. This position involves providing comprehensive care at the USF Health Eye Institute and inpatient services at Tampa General Hospital. The role also includes supervising residents and fellows.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology residency training program.
  • Must meet university criteria for faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate, or Professor.
  • Candidates must have or be eligible for an unrestricted Florida medical license.
  • This candidate must obtain credentialing with USF Health and Tampa General Hospital.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Outpatient clinical experience.

POSITION DUTIES:
  • Provide outpatient corneal and inpatient surgical care at the USF Health Eye Institute and Tampa General Hospital.
  • Supervise and teach residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Deliver lectures or Grand Rounds on various specialty topics.
  • Provide TGH call coverage and perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
