Job summary

The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, has an exciting full time opportunity for an Ophthalmic Echographer 1 (OE1) in Miami, Florida. The OE1 is competent in the theory, principles, and practice of eye care, documents in the EMR system, and performs ocular diagnostic examinations using ultrasound echography instrumentation in compliance with department standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1 year of ophthalmic ultrasound experience, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of experience in ophthalmic ultrasound.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform A-scan biometry and IOL Master measurements.
• Conduct contact/immersion A-Scan.
• Perform high-resolution B-scan and standardized A-scan.
• Carry out keratometry.
• Supervise globe and orbital exams.
• Document procedures in the EMR/PACS system and ensure data uploads.
