Job summary

Weatherford College seeks an Instructor/Clinical Coordinator for Ophthalmic Technology at the Weatherford Campus. This is a full-time faculty role involving teaching, mentoring, and coordinating clinical opportunities to support learning outcomes across in-person, hybrid, and online formats.

The candidate must be a COA and obtain COT within two years, with at least 3 years of COA/COT experience and a plan to earn an Associate degree within 3 years. Start date 10/26/2026; open date 10/12/2026.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) and obtain COA and COT within two years.
• Minimum three years of COA or COT work experience.
• Willingness to teach day, evening and/or weekend classes in multiple modalities.
• Some college hours with plans to obtain an Associate Degree within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in ophthalmic technology and facilitate student outcomes.
• Recruit, advise, and mentor students in and outside the classroom.
• Create and maintain effective learning environments across modalities.
• Develop and update curriculum, textbooks, and instructional materials.
• Identify, contract and assign clinical opportunities for students.
