Job summary

North-Star-Health is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support the Optometrist with patient preparation, preliminary exams, and routine vision screening. You will manage medical history collection, assist during procedures, and ensure exam rooms are safe, clean, and stocked.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support Certification.
• Proficiency in computers.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
• One year of ophthalmic technician experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as clinical assistant to Optometrist.
• Perform complete ophthalmic history and preliminary exams and sub-specialty tests.
• Interviews patient to obtain and record medical history in Athena EHR.
• Prepare patients for examination and communicate results to Optometrist.
• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment and sterilize instruments.
• Set up and prep for minor procedures and maintain stock for exam rooms.
