Job summary

National Vision, Inc. is seeking an optometric technician to support patient flow in a busy eye care setting. The role involves conducting pre-screenings, assisting the optometrist, and explaining preliminary exams to patients with a focus on accuracy and care.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, coordinate with the doctor and lab staff, and learn optical terminology to ensure high-quality patient experiences. Training is provided for procedures and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Background in optical/retail environment preferred.
• Ability to learn optical terminology and procedures.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality patient care and maintain professional office atmosphere.
• Understand ocular terminology and perform pre-exam screenings.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients and complete necessary paperwork.
• Conduct testing on patients prior to doctor examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings where appropriate.
• Review prescriptions and patient information and consult with optometrist when needed.
• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
